Brussels

In Brussels now. Had mussels for dinner tonight. It was pretty good.

Going to Paris tomorrow afternoon.

In Munich now

I made it to Munich today. Since my last post I went to Venice, Vienna, and Interlaken. I've been on trains all day and havn't eaten so I'll be going out to do that now.

In Florence now

Mykonos was nice. Walked around Florence today.

Made it to Santorini

The ferry arrived yesterday, and we made it here. It's supposedly high season,but the beach and restaurants around where I'm staying seem pretty empty.

Leaving Athens

About to leave Athens on a ferry to some Greek islands. I should be back in Rome on the 10th.

Made it to Athens

Got here yesterday. My luggage took an extra day though. Andrew's hasn't arrived yet. Alitalia seemed to swap luggage on our flight since a lot of luggage that wasn't ours made it to Greece without us.

Saw the Acropolis and Temple of Zeus today.

Vatican day

Went to the Vatican museum today after we learned it would be closed tomorrow. It was crowded. They seem to make you go through a hundred different rooms before going to the Sisteen chapel but they were interesting and we spent most of the afternoon there. The audio guides that they had for rent were surprisingly useful. If you didn't want to pay for that or for a guided tour you could even have followed an actual guide around and listened to them. There were lots of tours going around, almost all in English.

Made it to Rome

I'll be here for a few days before heading off to Greece. I didn't have Internet access for the past few days. I'll post m0ore details later.

Nice is nice

It's been a crazy couple days.

On Tuesday Andrew and I decided to use a daily subway pass in Barcelona to see more sights. We were out for almost 12 hours and saw all the major far flung sights.

Among the highlights:

• Barcelona Cathedral
• The unfinished Cathedral that's been under construction for 125 years. It's expected to be completed in 2020. We spent a couple hours there.
• Olympic stadium.
• Getting lost going down Olympic stadium
• Taking the elevator to the top of the Columbus monument.

Yesterday, we woke up at 7AM to get a train to Nice. It left at 8:45AM, and was scheduled to be comprised of two trains: Barcelona->Montpelier and Montpelier-> Nice. The first journey was fine, and we had an hour and half layover in Montpelier. Then, we took the Montpelier train, halfway through we learned that the train would stop in Marseilles and we would need to find another way to Nice. After trying to0 get on a few different trains, we managed to get onto one that would take us to Toulon. Once there, we got onto a TGV to Nice that made several stops along the way. We were originally scheduled to arrive at 7:30PM, but we didn't arrive until around 9:30. We met other people along the way going to the same hostel, and managed to get there around 10:30 since they picked us up in a large van.

We then decided to go out since there was a music festival that was going on that night only. We went out with a couple other groups stuck with us from Barcelona and another group that was there for a few days. We made our way through the festival and had fun.

We're probably going to take today to recover and try to visit Monaco tomorrow.

Made it to Barcelona

Arrived a few hours ago via London. Staying in a hostel here. Had dinner tonight. It was nice.
